Special Assignments and Invited Lectures

1998: Invited participant in Office of Naval Research (ONR) Workshop on ``Ocean Wave Coherence'' and the research needed to address design criteria problems in the design of ocean megastructures.

1998: Keynote Speaker in the session sponsored by the Offshore Technology Research Center at the Offshore Technology Conference, May 1998, Houston, Texas.

1984-1988: Extended consultation as Engineering Statistician to the Continental Shelf Institute of the Norwegian government, relative to a major wave measurement project in the North Sea.

1983-1984: University Representative and Committee Chairman in the preparation of job descriptions and the initial hiring of staff for the Western Research Institute (WRI). Subsequently served as Acting Chief Excecutive Officer for WRI, and after the permanent CEO was hired, served as Acting Chief Scientific Officer until that position could be filled.

1983: Lectured at Intevep, the Petroleum Research Laboratory of Venezuela in Caracas.

1982: Served as a Technical Advisor to the United Nations in a three week lectureship and consultation to the Indian Central Water and Power Research Station, Puna, India.
