Gas Hydrates Research: 3D Project


Part of our Fall 2000 cruise on R/V Ewing was acquisition of a 3D multichannel seismic data set.  This data set, which we are still actively working on, was acquired by shooting 82 parallel 2D lines spaced 75 m apart.  Because of feathering on the 4000-m-long streamer (i.e., the streamer tails at an angle from ship due to currents), the reflection CMPs fill in well at 12.5 m bin spacing in both the X- and Y-directions (click here to see a bin map).
